The car hire depot in Dublin City is located on Lombard Street East, which is only a five-minute walk from the Grafton Street shopping, dining and entertainment street.

From the north end of Grafton Street, head south-east on Nassau Street, veering north-west onto Lincoln Place and ultimately heading north on Westland Row. Once you’ve crossed Pearse Street, you’ll be on Lombard Street East. The Dublin City car rental depot is roughly 50 metres ahead on the left-hand side of the road. (Note: these directions assume that you’re on foot, as Lombard Street East is a one-way road heading in the opposite direction).

General Information about Dublin City Center

Once you’ve arranged car hire in Dublin, you’ll be ready to explore Ireland’s capital and largest city. There’s a lot to see and enjoy in this city, beginning with the iconic Guinness Storehouse at St James’ Gate Brewery. The chance to quaff a pint of stout from a perch on the highflying Gravity bar—overlooking Dublin and its spread of medieval lanes and Georgian architecture—is one-of-a-kind.

And that’s only the beginning. Dublin’s home to Trinity College, a beacon of Irish life and culture. The campus itself is attractive and well-worth exploring, though the show-stealer here is most certainly the Book of Kells. This 8th-centurty masterpiece did plenty of travelling in its 1,200 years, and it eventually found its home at this spectacular exhibit. The National Gallery, the Spire and Dublin College are a few other key attractions in Dublin.

Dublin’s shopping and dining is also first rate. Much of the action centres on Grafton Street, a pedestrian avenue that begins at Trinity College and continues on to St Stephen’s Green. This is the place to pick up souvenirs, browse second-hand books and—once night falls—strike out on a pub crawl.
