History & Culture - Casino in Marino

Located on the Malahide Road near Fairview, the Casino in Marino is one of the finest examples of Georgian Architecture to be found in Ireland. The size of the building is misleading until you come up close and see that the building is a highly decorated and is three storey tall.

The Casino was Built between 1765 and 1771 for a total cost of £60,000 by Simon Vierpul (Italian). The pillars act as drainpipes, the roof urns as chimneys and central heating comes from the walls which are heated by fire places.
